St. Mary's Pupils Attend Performance of 'Called Out'

Year 11 pupils in St. Mary’s, along with GCSE and A Level Drama students, attended a performance of ‘Called Out’ at the Craic Theatre, Coalisland on Thursday 22 October 2026.

The visit formed part of an Education Authority project providing pupils across Mid-Ulster schools with the opportunity to experience the production and engage with its important themes. The initiative supports ongoing work focused on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls, encouraging young people to reflect on issues such as respect, healthy relationships, and personal responsibility.

‘Called Out’ was written by Cahal Clarke and directed by Aoibh Clarke. The powerful one-man production was performed by Rónán Evan Johnson, whose compelling portrayal captivated the audience and helped bring the play's important messages to life.

The performance offered students a thought-provoking and engaging learning experience, complementing their studies while raising awareness of a significant social issue. Students benefited from the opportunity to consider the themes presented and their relevance within contemporary society.

St. Mary’s would like to thank the Education Authority and all those involved in delivering this valuable educational programme.
