St. Mary’s Mini-Company supports Alps Mental Health Organisation
St. Mary’s Grammar School’s Business Studies and Economics students have enjoyed continued success with this year’s Mini-Company and have, once again, used their entrepreneurial skills to benefit the ALPS mental health organisation.
Mini-Company Director, Anna Hinfey, and her team successfully designed and distributed over 400 jerseys and crew neck jumpers to the St. Mary's community.
The students were delighted to present a cheque for £1500 to former pupil and Head Boy of St. Mary’s, Frank Diamond who is the COO of ALPS (All Lives Are Precious).
After a cheque presentation, Frank delivered an excellent motivational talk to Year 14. He said: “A huge heartfelt thank you to all the students involved in the Mini-Company in raising a substantial amount of money for the third year in a row to help us continue our work in providing free counselling and mental health services in the community. The donation will make a big difference to many.”
Mr McCauley, Head of Business Studies and Economics, said: “I am extremely proud of Anna and her team. The hard work of the students was outstanding. For the third year in a row, St. Mary’s students showed a tremendous dedication to fundraising for this excellent charity. Everyone involved with the Mini-Company should be very proud of this achievement. It is fantastic that their commitment has allowed us as a school to donate £5500 so far to ALPS."
